Hello all, Our company SDTS/SECAPEM is operating your MB339 (rented to Draken) in France for the navy training. This aircraft is a pleasure to fly and very well equipped. Is anyone remembering how the engine overhaul was supposed to be done? Due to the de-speeding, Rolls-Royce does want to support it. Do you have any suggestions? best regrads, Poilu

The Viper 680 was overhauled by the RNZAF. Only 20 were ever built. It is a pig and RR do not want to support it. It is prone to zero stage blade failure and has no tolerance to water entering it on take off. The intakes are too small and we used to polish them to solve the problem. The compressor cases are magnesium and are prone to corrosion. The aircraft flies good and the pilots liked it but like a Ferrari it is a pig to service.
