Osprey crash off the Queensland coast

Not sure if she was a US Navy machine, sadly it looks like three people are missing but gladly
twenty three where rescued. Our thoughts with the family and friends of those who are missing.

Saw a pair of US military Ospreys take off from Bne airport when I passed through there last month

US Marine Corps, based in Japan (but presumably allocated to the Amphibious group.)

I wonder if from the MRF-D Air Group which is based out RAAF Darwin for 6mths? As the Air Group does clock up a heck of lot of air miles while they are here in Oz over the 6mths rotation.
