Hi all, The most recent 1/48 completion for me is the AMT P-40E from the mid-90s, build with Eduard photoetch flaps as the Air Force Museum of New Zealand's former P-40F. Decals by Ventura. Untitled by Zac Yates, on Flickr Untitled by Zac Yates, on Flickr Untitled by Zac Yates, on Flickr Untitled by Zac Yates, on Flickr Untitled by Zac Yates, on Flickr Untitled by Zac Yates, on Flickr Unfortunately the PE flaps (first time doing that) meant the wing lost some dihedral, the roundel bars aren't quite right for the 1/1 example, and I need to do a couple of paint touch-ups, but otherwise I'm pleased with the result. That's now three 1/48 Kittyhawks I've built with the ID stripes! And I still want to do another...I must be mad...

It needs the white paint chipping off the tail like the real thing.
Those roundels are a shade too light for NZ3000 sadly.

Nice Zac would like to do an RC P40 with those easy to see stripes, now can you arrange for a full scale P40 in RNZAF markings!

You should see my version of the Wanaka Birdcage...the roundels are terribly light compared to the real deal. now can you arrange for a full scale P40 in RNZAF markings! I've done a bit of reading and emailing but that option's still beyond my financial ability for the time being!

There are three P-40's in RNZAF colours already, MOTAT, Wigram and the flying P-40M in the USA. I think thee will be more to come in our colours in the not too distant future too.

I guess you're right, I'd just love to see one fly myself. Also that sounds exciting! I know there's a couple in Oz, and our own Hvd1041's example hopefully.
Anyway, I'm glad folk like my Kittyhawk!

Looks great Zac. I was going to comment on the wings lack of dihedral until I saw your explanation.
