Hi there,
The search function has yielded no results, so I thought I'd ask everyone out there if they know of any place where GSB Tender Documents can be viewed/downloaded/purchased?
I'm trying to find the GSB Tenders that my Dad's Cousin was successful in winning, getting him 3 Mossies (minus engines) from Taieri. Dad is certain he has a photo or two of at least one of them, but it is probably when it was used as a bonfire at Guy Fawkes!
Any help with locating Tender Documents to see if the successful bidder is named on them is greatly appreciated.
Cheers Graham

Most cases I am aware of, the successful tenderer information is a separate document. For example, when the Harvards were sold, a separate letter was sent out listing the successful tenderers. To find these tender documents would be a real bonus and would help track down a few mysteries.

There is a bit of information in the RNZAF register book about who were successful with tenders. As a minimum it has the tender disposal number. Last time I saw the book it was in RNZAF HQ Wellington.

Yes, that book lists a number of IV (Issue Vouchers), SR (Stores Releases) and who allegedly was the successful tenderer. What is missed are the occasions when the sale fell through and aircraft were either retendered, or offered to an unsuccessful original tenderer. The late Cliff Jenks passed a lot of information from the AF380 on to us back in the day.

Just talked to Dad on the phone. He's driving around Otago/Southland looking up relatives before they fall off the planet!
Anyway, the gent in question is Archie MacArthur. He lived in Clinton and died around 1965.
Dad can't remember if there 3 or 5 Mossies that he bought. Evidently Clive thought they were metal, which he wanted for around the farm. He was very disappointed when he found out they were wood! And they had no engines. After using the wheels for trailers on the farm and some of the hydraulics, the rest was burned or left to rot.
Two drop tanks were left at Springbank in Taieri (My Grandfathers farm) but Dad doesn't recall what became of them
