Hi all, I found this lovely model of a Wingnut Wings DH.9 in NZPAF colours in my travels this morning. I don't care much for the chocolatey PC10, or the massively in-vogue patchy finish, but this is a gorgeous model well worth a look. Hopefully you don't need to be a member of LSP to view it: forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?showtopic=71467

I remember that the late Bill Dini was adamant that all the NZPAF "khaki" painted aircraft were of a predominantly green shade rather than the brown spectrum, including the DH4s, DH 9s and the Brisfits, and he was engaged in servicing them from 1923 till 1929, their entire period of service. Nevertheless the model itself appears to be a masterpiece, as is the engine. Dave D

Wow the detail on that thing is out of this planet, check the rigging and flying wires, well done that person.

That's my DH.9 build over on Large Scale Planes - thanks very much for the kind words folks. I'm still sorting out a good camera and lighting setup but what I've been working with does tend to highlight preshading on the ribs much more than what can be seen with the naked eye. This was started and mostly painted a few months back, and only finished recently. More recent builds are without the preshading, Zac I'll agree with your comments above on that :-)
