Does anyone happen to know if there are any staff members of de Havilland (NZ) Ltd still alive who actually worked on the production of the Tiger Moths during WWII?
Males or females.
I am sure it's a real long shot, but it'd be great to interview someone who worked there actually building the Tigers.
Or does anyone know of anybody that worked in the wartime production lines of overseas aircraft factories before coming to NZ to live, or back to NZ?

You might try Ron Hildreth in Hamilton. He was there 50s and 60s and might know of someone.

Dave, I know a guy called Bob Oliver, who worked for de Havilland in the U.K as a young man. He came to N.Z and worked for NAC/ANZ as an aircraft engineer at Wellington Airport, thru the late 60's, all the 70's and the early 80's I think. When I last saw him a couple of years ago he was alive and well, probably about 72 years of age, living near the Airport in the Miramar/Strathmore area. He wouldn't have been there during the Rongotai/Tiger Moth days but, can't promise, he may know a few blokes that could help you. Can assist a little more if you can't find him /wanted to follow it up. Cheers. Mike. AK.
