Hmmmm.... It's amazing how "stalker-ish" we can be these days using technology. Comparing imagery on Google Earth with the Herald photos, I pretty quickly found the address. Once you have an address, some judicious Googling lets find out who lives there. The NZ Companies office is quite helpful with directors' home addresses. I'm not going to dox the guy but I don't recognise the name as being a "well known" aviation personality. However, his company's head-office address is near the airport so maybe he has some connections there. Kind of scary how easy it was...

15.1m or 49ft 6in, 40m sounds far more impressive! Maybe it was actually an Embraer B7320 Dreamkota

You would think whoever wrote the article would have been able to tell from the photos/video it isn't 40m... At least they didn't top it off with the journalist classic football field comparison.
