Per the title, I was very surprised arriving at work at Ardmore this morning to see a white Fokker F-27 with a VH- reg parked next to the unicom tower. Presumably one of the ex NZ Post ones. Apparently it came in from Auckland Int'l about 3:30 yesterday (Sunday). Anyone know what it's doing at Ardmore or how long it's going to be there for? Hope I'm around when it departs, assuming it hasn't already, since it would make a great photo opportunity. Edit - Good old Facebook appears to have mostly answered my question, it's at Ardmore until mid October apparently. Good plane spotting opportunity until then.

I'll send a signal to Bob at HARS and see what I can find out.

From what I gathered today I suspect its parking at Ardmore may be related to the cost associated with keeping it on the ground at Auckland.

That, and/or the arrival of the 4th Parcelair 737-400 has left a shortage of space?

Why wouldn't they charge for parking? They charge enough for parking cars, why not aeroplanes? isc
