Well this is brilliant, Archives New Zealand has begun digitising the RNZAF O.R.B.'s and other Unit Histories. so far they have a load of files available free online for No's 40 and 41 (Transport) Squadrons through various eras from WWII to the 1970's or so. Follow this link, scroll down and there are links to the record groupings in their news item. When you open a link click the 'Records' tab and you'll see the records and the links to digital versions. www.facebook.com/notes/archives-new-zealand/newly-digitised-and-available-on-a-screen-near-you/2127809130615692/And of real interest to me I was just perusing the 1944 records from the beginning of No. 41 (Transport) Squadron and discovered to my amazement that as well as Hudsons and Lodestars which I knew were on strength, there are entries for their crews also flying Venturas! NZ4616 and NZ4552 are both mentioned, and there may be others as I've not yet looked too deeply. All three flights I have seen in PV-1's are test flights, rather than transport duties. I wonder what the story was there.
