Since 1967, SCOUTS New Zealand's Walsh Memorial Scout Flying School has provided the highest quality aviation training in the country for budding young pilots aged 16-19. In 2018, 70 students attended the popular two-week long training camp at Matamata. The Walsh has many past students with successful careers in aviation. In 2018 we were pleased to welcome Flight Lieutenant Daniel Pezaro, RNZAF, a past Walsh student, to present our young pilots with their Wings. Students must be New Zealand citizens. The course starts at the very basics of learning to fly. Students should have no more than minimal previous flight experience (up to 2 hours, preferably only a trial flight at the local aero club or flying school). Cost: $1795 for first year Venturer and Ranger students or $555 for returning students. The fee for first year non-Venturer/non-Ranger students is $1995. Next School: Friday 11th - Friday 25th January 2019 Click here for online application information www.scouts.org.nz/Walsh
