It took place on Sunday morning, the first flight of the day. I was fortunate to be there as a guest of TVAL. It was an amazing sight to watch, and the sound was incredible.

And that sound is what many pelican commentators do not understand and just talk all over......really annoying. Wonderful effort to put that together and where else in the world would you see it other than NZ !!! Sir Peter needs to be thanked for his vision and dedication !!!!!

Stunning!!
And to think they could have added another FE2, Bristol F2B, BE2, Camel, Avro 504K and Hanriot HD1 - not to mention Albatros DII and DV, Fokker DVIII - all with original engines!

Unless something drastic happens between the two organisers next time round I'll be making my pilgrimage to Masterton instead of Classic Fighters

And what's needed to go with the international tourist thin is a choice of a steam train trip from Auckland, or Wellington, or a flight by DC-3, or DH 89 Rapide, or some similar vintage aircraft. The tourests would come to that wind, hail or shine.
