Just heard from Bevan Dewes who's on the scene that the Lewis Air Legends Mosquito that was restored here in New Zealand by Avspecs Ltd. and Mosquito Aircraft Restoration has won WWII Grand Champion and the Phoenix Award Gold Wrench at EAA Airventure at Oshkosh. Bloody brilliant news! Well done to all involved. What an amazing aeroplane that is! Photo of the trophy hall and the acceptance of Grand Champion award just sent from Bevan Dewes.

GREAT NEWS! Have been following closely the action at Oshkosh but coverage of PZ474 has been scarce, especially compared with that of the P-82 and Collings Foundation Hellcat. Award well deserved!

Now if the AVSPECS boys can get another one finished in time for a full on display appearance at Classic Fighters 2021, I am sure that would make a lot of people very happy.
