So, other than me, did anyone else listen to Frederick Forsyth's classic short story The Shepherd as read by Al Maitland or Robert Powell last night? This is a tradition held since 1979 by CBC every Christmas Eve. I read the book as a 10 year old and have never forgotten the impact it had on my imagination. It seems even more appropriate considering the efforts gone to preserve examples of De Havilland's finest here in NZ.

I did not listen last night but I listened to the BBC's version last year.

Its a brilliant story. Loved it when I read it so many years ago and think I shall read it again right now.....
