Just back from around three hours on the sticks, beautiful day out in the Tasman! Ferry Turn came in to fly formation Parachute deployment from my Pelican STOL Inverted Clipped Wing Cub Mount Gower and Lidgebird to the left, that is bush fire haze you can see on the horizon, thoughts for those been effected, been a bad day on the mainland. Maiden flight of my FMS Super Cub 1.7span 4 cell the biggest RC plane I have flown! Did some STOL take offs and landings on her second jaunt, such a gentle giant!

I think that Ferry Turn was actually a Fairey Tern, but could be mistaken! Great shot though. David D

Did a bit more research, I have missed named this bird, the locals refer to them by two names, Fairy or White Turns, they are actually White Turns. Very tame lay their eggs in the hollows of tree branches. There is a Fairy Turn which it similar in looks and size but with a black head, the one seen locally is all white, beautiful little bird.
