That clip shows the Fiat's appearance. Thanks for the link, Dave. I wasn't aware of the movie let along VH-LIX's appearance in it!

Fiat made some really nice looking fighters... till the jet age... They did indeed! CR.32. CR.32 A question so the snout fins are the oil cooler and the chin shroud houses the radiator?

Fiat CR 42, that's rather neat, but the CR 32 - aesthetically not so much in my humble opinion! However I believe it was considered to be a success in actual operational service.
However I think the G.91 is a great looking machine, as good as any of the 1950s/60s fighter and strike aircraft, such as the Mirage, Scimitar, Skyray, Skyshark, Hunter and Swift, the Wyvern and the Valkyrie to name just a few! Needless to say, some of these had not such glittering careers, and others were considered almost complete failures in service (for various reasons), but that is beside the point.

However I think the G.91 is a great looking machine, as good as any of the 1950s/60s fighter and strike aircraft I'm another G.91 fan - I built the old Airfix kit when I was 12 and I was quite taken with the design! It looks so good to my eye.

Unkind..........not so keen on the G91 PR nose but cannot wait to see the CR.42 flying. Believe that Wangaratta Precision manufactured some panels for it.

I realise looks can be deceptive but she looked pretty close back in 2018, of course a global pandemic will throw a spanner in the works as well! Here's the Hendon one as well.

Apparently the engine piping installation was a nightmare and took way longer than anticipated - that and covid.
Like the G.91. There are many worse looking aircraft out there. Mostly Russian.

That CR.42 is so gorgeous.
Bill Wells, the Battle of Britain pilot and ace from here in Cambridge, was scrambled one day with his squadron but his aircraft would not start initially. The rest took off and flew away and then he got started so took off to follow. While still by himself he encountered a group of CR.42's - it was the first day Italy took part in the Battle of Britain - and so he got in amongst it. From memory he said he believed he destroyed three or four, but as no-one else was with him he was not able to claim them.

After to the Gladiator, Avia 534, Bucker Jungmann and Vildebeest, it would have to rate as the next attractive WW2 biplane.

I managed to be very up close and personal on the flight line at Duxford and later had the 'tour' of it when it was in ARCo. Just a beautiful machine and a magnificent restoration. Working on systems now and manufacture of some components borrowed from the machine in Sweden. Its so tight that the engine had to be removed for that work.

Zac if you are going to stand there coughing all over the place, you'd better get tested.
