Using lesterpk's satellite viewing site (james.darpinian.com/satellites/) and selecting Cambridge as the viewing location for previous satellites, at 8:06pm last night there was a satellite (named Tiangong) pass in proximity of the Southern Cross - if this helps.
Edit to add - It was travelling West to East

I'm afraid I do not know where I read that, and I tried to find it but failed. It may have been some other NASA type too but I thought it was the U-2/ER-2.

Dave, Wednesday 14th it was 7:55pm (and marked as bright) for about 1 minute travelling west to east towards Southern Cross and a little higher latitude than yesterday. This should be the link for the replay on 14th james.darpinian.com/satellites/?&showPastTimes
