I have two decal sheets for Bristol Beaufighters . They are for two different aircraft from the same Squadron , one probably dated about 1943 the other is in D Day stripes . The codes for the 1943 one are in Dull Red while the other ones are in Sky . Can anyone tell me if Coastal Command changed the colour of their codes during this time .

Hi, Flipping through M Bowyer's book, "Fighting Colours", pp. 120-121... he states in June 42, Coastal Command codes were ordered to be in Grey or Red... he personally noted Beaus around this time with what he assumed to be Sky markings, also some with red. In June 43, codes were ordered to be in red only. But of course, there are bound to be variations! Hope this helps, Ian
