Hi, Thought this might be of interest to someone out there! Tamiya's 1/48 Sherman Firefly IC, finished as a B Squadron Sherman from the NZ 19th Armoured Regiment in Italy 1944-ish. Made 'out of the box', just for fun. Beautiful kit too The markings do not represent an actual photographed vehicle, but are supposed to just be representative of a NZ Firefly...

Very nice. I never realised that the NZ Armoured Regt's had Fireflies.
Have you done any other NZ armour stuff? You don't see much of it on the net compared with RNZAF aircraft.

Nice, I've got this kit myself. Would love to put NZ markings on it

Cheers guys, The only other NZ armour I've built is this old 1/35 M113, a model of the APC I drove many years ago... Jeffrey Plowman's books on NZ armour/vehicles are great resources if you're thinking of building some NZ armour. I couldn't find many references for Sherman ICs, Calum, but quite a few VCs (which have the longer bodies). Cheers, Ian

Actually, just out of interest, Dave- do you know why the photo is pixelated/blurry?
Has the site compressed the image I have uploaded elsewhere? It's 800 wide and on my website appears fine...
Just curious if there's a better size i could create the images in?
Cheers, Ian

I can't even see the M113 picture, it's just a box with a red cross.
As all potos are hosted offsite the forum doesn't do any resizing. it must be a problem with your host site.

Just curious if there's a better size i could create the images in? (I'm deliberately erring on the side of assuming a lower level of knowledge about techie detail, I don't know if this is justified :-)) This board serves up the external photo (the board doesn't have it's own copy, that's why it needs to be on the internet somewhere) to your browser. Your browser may display it as smaller than 800 wide if it is set to do so. If you save the photo from the forum, you should get a 800 wide jpeg (which should be the same as what you linked to between the img tags). Are you looking at a 800 wide version when you say the one on your website appears fine? You presumably made a 800 wide version from a higher-quality one. Whatever program you used (I use the free Faststone) to do this probably has quality settings for the 'Save As' process, if these are set too low you can get a bad jpeg. A 800 wide picture lets people have a 1000 wide browser window (or full screen on a 1024 screen) that probably won't require people to scroll sideways to see the full picture - this allows for 200 worth of 'header info' (Author name, icon, website, sig line etc) to the left and margins etc. 800 wide is fine for most purposes on the web IMHO. Hope this helps.

Hi Dave, Thanks, I'm reasonably geeky so no worries! I think the problem lies with my host site- the image seems corrupted and when you say you can't see it on your site, I think I know the problem... yes, i've exceeded my host usage allowance!
