I wouldn't be too sure about that - we will still be flying them until 2013 at this stage.
Nice pics, I'll get some of mine up in a few minutes.

Hi all, just wanted to say a huge thanks for the photos of the day, and I guess more to come. I really enjoy all the anecdotes, like the story behind the wheel missing on the Yak etc, and the distance travelled on the Cult's greatest hits. ;D

The Roaring Forties were impressive as usual. I think their 20th anniversary season is around here somewhere (was it '87, '88, '89 the first team was formed? I'm pretty sure I saw them in '89 at least). Sam, the New Zealand Warbirds first began Harvard displays at airshows in 1979, first with the Harvard Pair (Ernie Thompson and Trevor Bland) and later that year The Warbirds Harvard Formation Aerobatic Team began with three aircraft and over the years this expanded to five aircraft. The team formed as The Roaring Forties in 1988. From what I've been told that team disbanded for the last time in 2004 and the team since 2005 has been a different team known again as The Warbirds Harvard Formation Aerobatic Team, despite what some commentators seem to call them.

GREETINGS !!!!!!! Long time since I've been here. Hope all of you are well I went to WOW yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. Pity some of the biplanes and triplanes couldn't display due to the wind conditions. Here's some of my pics and one of my movies. Apologies for the quality, my camera isn't awesome.....

Fantastic photos, Team WoNZ! Thanks for posting them, and it's great to see a few of you getting some of those unusual angles happening. I hope you have all remained sunburn free and well hydrated.

Did anyone see the Harvard groundloop on landing this afternoon? I was looking the other way, but heard the people I was with gasp and looked in the direction they were looking just in time to see the aeroplane right itself and come to a sudden stop. The wingtip came very close to hitting the ground, and although I didn't see the direction it was heading in as it groundlooped, it appeared as though it was heading for the hospitality encolusures. The pilot taxiied the Harvard away to the parking spot, so presumably no damage was done to the aircraft.
I imagine with the number of people there with camcorders, something may pop up on YouTube.

A lot of us probably got pretty much the same photos I guess, so I've picked a few different ones out than have been posted so far. Tigers & toilet paper for a bit of fun Yak racing in full roar What do you do when you crash a precious Spitfire? Work off some stress in an MX2. Doug makes it LOOK like he's crashing, but really he knows what he's doing. (So they say!) Pacific pair. Pilots of the smaller often happy to see pilots of the larger back in the day. I got somewhat lucky with the timing of this shot. The ol' "Huey spewing coloured smoke" demonstration If you're ever stuck out in Cook Strait on a Nissan ute, you know who to call... Boys will be boys - but who did this first? The Harvards or these guys? One of the many Harvards And finally, one of the MANY great historical types that only flew outside of the program! These and 148 others can be found in my Flickr set

Great photos everyone, every year I say I must go to this airshow the next time, and I never do owing to time and money constraints, but I will go there someday, and if these photos are anything to go by will enjoy it immensely.
