ZK-BXG can be found at Ashbuton Aviation Museum in Ashburton www.ashburton.co.nz/aviation/ZK-POH, ZK-NAO, & ZK-PAX are still operated by Airwork/Airpost on the nightly mail runs and can usually be found during the day at either Auckland or Blenheim airports. They operate to Auckland, Palmerston North, Wellington, Blenheim and Christchurch, at night. EDIT: A training frame is housed at Christchurch Airport, and the hulk of former ZK-NAN can still be seen at Blenheim

The cockpit section of the broken up VT-NED is in the Timaru Aviation museum.
ZK-BXH is still registered to Air New Zealand. I seem to recall that there were two Friendship fuselages at the training school at CH.
The Christchurch crash fire Fairchild F27 was N385BA.

Hi Limelight, I never even knew that Timaru had an aviation museum. What sort of items do they have there?

The Museum is on Timaru Airfield; partly in the old control tower; but mainly in a dedicated hangar nearby. This hangar contains the nose section of the F27 VT-NED. The John Lowther Camel Replica ZK-JKE. The Bolton trike Moyes XS 155 ZK-YXS. UFM Easy Riser ZK-FWA. Pterodactyl Ascenders ZK-FFQ & ZK-DAC. Quicksilver ZK-SIG. Tiger Moth ZK-TGR. Chipmunk ZK-CHP. Some of these are still on the register. There are other exhibits that I do not recognise and several large R/C models (F4U, Spitfire Cub + others) and loads of memorabilia. Well worth a gold coin entry.

The 'hulk' at Blenheim is former ZK-NAN which suffered an undercarriage collapse some time ago and was written off.

VT-NED was refurbished by SAFE Air but was never collected due to non-payment and documentation issues. As seen in Hairy's photo above, it was broken up a few years ago.

I have to fess up to not having kept up with the later Friendships after the NAC/ANZ ones so I was ignorant of VT-NED.
The one I was interested in was NAN as I've never seen pix of her incident, the damage resulting, and her fate.

Updating the earlier post dated back to 2009.
BXG is no longer located at Ashburton but now at Ferrymead pending inclusion in the hangar with V807 BRF.
Hopefully this will occur early 2015 dependent on earthquake repairs.
