Ha, considering you forced me to get in there under protest, I think you owe me the money! I knew once I got in the photo would keep coming up here on the forum.

Fun fact: Wikipedia now says Mk.IX BR601 is now back home in the UK "stored pending restoration at the Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar" - so I guess we won't get to see a third Mk.IX fly here after all! Disappointing for us, but good news for the type as the BHHH team seems to be doing stellar work.

I hope so I can't wait to hear the growl of that RR Griffon engine again. Last time for me was Wanaka 1994.

You can tell Ray or Mark is flying this without being told.....that low pass down the flightline is classic Hannah! I went to that show and I think I have photos and video..........somewhere.

Thanks for the video Rayo - the great sounds too, as she came down to a low pass, engine revs picking up and growling then the pull up and the twin puff of smoke as the excess oil gathers in the crankcase and the cranks throws it up at the pistons and the cylinder walls at 1:29 and a bit of a puff results... Lovely vid - great, thanks again!! Hmmm 37L vs 27L haha!

Yep I had both cameras busy that day (Sunday) it had snowed overnight and the surrounding peaks were covered it made for an even more spectacular backdrop than usual..

The "Airflow" Youtube Airshow clips are the best for early NZ airshow footage. www.youtube.com/user/AirflowNZ/search?query=airshowThere is more MK 14 footage there as well with Ray and Mark with a Spitfire each

Gorgeous photos. From memory Mark flew NH799 fairly exclusively at WOW94?
Graham Orphan was asked on the recent live Wings Over New Zealand Show about NH799 and, while I don't remember the exact phrasing, it was very good news that has me immensely optimistic she will fly at Omaka.
