I used to play on it as a kid , when it was still tied up at Eckfords wharf ( before it was moved to Picton ) . It was half full of water so you couldn’t really go inside , but was fun to explore around .

Just worried that people might turn up at the wrong river looking for this aged vessel (if it still exists) They would be so disappointed! It still exists , in fact is part of a reasonably popular walk way .

Sure the organisers would really appreciate those rolling over the tickets. It gives them some degree of planning certainty which would be a relief. Very true , however they did receive a government grant to give them financial security going into organising the first postponed show from April . I’m not sure how much that actually helped , but at least it would have been better than nothing .

You can roll your tickets over to the next show. I'm sure the organisers would appreciate that from all us show regulars. They will be in a financial hole after 2 cancellations so the less refunds they have to give the better for the future of this show I imagine. Yes , that’s what I did after the first cancellation and would probably do it again if it was just one ticket for me . I purchased the super early bird ticket , so it’s already been close to 18 months since buying tickets and the next show is another 18 months away . Three years is a long time between buying tickets and the actual show, a lot can change in that time . Having said that , I will be looking forward to attending the next show .

Thanks Brett , I might try the “ contact the organisers “ function on the Humanitix site and see how that goes .
Edit : that didn’t work ( for some sort of computer error message reason ) , so just emailed Classic Fighters direct ( from the link on the website , see how we go ) 😏

Has anybody tried to apply for a refund yet ? I know it’s still early days , but I tried to follow the instructions in the email and couldn’t seem to work it out . ( probably just me ) . I had early tickets issued by the first ticket supplier , which were then changed when the booking company was changed , maybe it’s different ?

I just clicked “ other “ told them my name , and my understanding of the situation, nothing else needed. Very easy ( for us impatient folks ) . Awesome service 😃

Yes , that was a real highlight of the show for me ( and quite unexpected ) I nearly missed it because I figured a Tiger display would be a little ho hum , so went to get some food !

Just got treated to a wee display by " Steadfast " ( only viewed from my back yard though ) . That thing is a beast ( and the wing tip smoke generators still look very cool )

RC planes have operated out of both Omaka and Woodbourne in the past too ( not for a number of years now though )
I remember gliding from Omaka as a teenager and hearing the RC planes flying beaneath me . They were in a corner of the field not required for real aircraft , but the gliders did circuits in the other direction, so flew over the RC planes .

Enjoyed the show, but like others missed the Corsair and Fokkers. Awesome to see the Hornet though. Yes , Corsair and Fokkers would have been nice , but we did get FW190 and Mk14 Spitfire which can only be seen at Omaka , so I can cope . I think the only thing they need to do to sell out the next show is bring the hornet back !

Beautiful shots, especially the Bristol Scout! Thank you for taking the time to share! I've seen a couple of photos of a 1:1 Stuka replica project being taken to/displayed on Restoration Row. Does anyone know what the story is with it? Was there an information board at all? I ask as I've just seen a post on Facebook suggesting it's to fly, which is rather exciting news if true. Built from a Zlin ( or something like that ) . Apparently a very similar post war aircraft to a Stuka , but to be powered by a Lycoming ( I think the sign said ) .Yes , intended to fly .

Yes a good post Gavin and lets hope those who think the rules don't apply to them use their brains. And yes I think I'm banned from most sauce products........near Lumpy at least! Well I live about 10 minutes walk from the airfield so I’ll be there most of the time . I’ll be the one with tomato sauce stains on my shirt ( once Baz turns up anyway )

Teresa and I are there all three days again and it's always a winner for us and being able to catch up with friends (and hide from people who want to know if the Auster is finished yet!). I must try and have a better look round the trade stands etc this year, plus restoration row is always interesting. We do appreciate the effort the CF team put into making this show happen and will always support it. Excellent— someone to mind my seat ! 😉😂

I still remember the thundering sound that echoed around the whole of the Wairau valley on a calm evening , everytime the airforce had a J52 ( Skyhawk engine ) on the test stand at Woodbourne . I live about 8kms away and it sounded like it was just up the street !

Are these generally friendly to spectators, or is it more closed to just the competitors? I've got limited aerobatic experience but it'd be great to go along and see how it all works. Reasonably friendly to spectators . The last one one I went to they were using the aircraft parking area by the Heritage centre for the competitor aircraft , which meant spectators could wander around the existing public spectator area and get a pretty good view of most things .
