What was the colour of the registration letters on the S.30's. There has been some debate whether they were black or blue like the Imperial Airways flying boats? My brother-in-law is convinced that they were blue (like our latter NZNAC DC-3's) and so am I.
Also anyone have any idea of the correct colour that was used for the orange out wing markings, I assume upper wings only? It would have to be a BS 381c colour.
Any ideas?

So do you mean the captions should be swapped around? The big building is on Parnell Rise, and the flats on Market Road??? I wonder if those barrack flats in the bottom photo where the men are parading are still there, they look fairly permanent and I'd not be surprised if they were still being lived in. (Note the airmen are in tropical kit, probably off to the Pacific I'd guess). ] Possibly this photo may have been taken postwar. Don't forget the KD Summer Dress issue

I wonder what "L.J.B. ARAMOHO" means, which is on the starboard side of the cockpit. Anyone know? Was it someone's name? The original owners initials and address (suburb -delivery location) Aramoho being a suburb of Wanganui and presumably the aircraft was delivered per NZ Rail.

Hmmmm Thanks for that Dave. I forgot that I had included my B/Day.
Heaps of aviation-type stuff for both B/Day & Christmas, the best? a DVD called Fight for the Sky, "45 minutes of real air-to-air combat action" so I am going to sit on my girlfriend and push 'play' seeing she loves my obsession (Yeah Right)
