I don't seem to recall a DCIP bombing mode. Struggling a bit without digging out my notes, but it had CCIP, and I think the symbology shown is about right for this. It also had planned toss, dive toss and maritime toss bombing modes.

Which kit did you rob the blades from? I got some resin ones from a company in aussie, but only two of the four are really usable, the others were warped backwards, and trying to straighten them didn't really work.

It will be 13 years for me this year, but not until April, I was on the R2 intake.

I don't know about the WP perimeter, but the Ohakea one is, I think, 9kms.

The Ohakea one was pretty well done by the end of last year, they put it up really fast. I'd expect by the time I get back next week there wont be much left, they were working pretty much right through Christams/New Year on it.

I get grand canyon helicopter tours.
It must be based on your recent web browsing... these internet adds are becoming more and more sophisticated, since they now appear to be targeted at a specific users interests.

Lol, it's clearly a piss take...
But on a more genuine note,
It seems Govt departments are going Hyundai, I know the Ministry of Education is, so perhaps the NZDF NMV fleet will follow?

I was thinking about getting that Pucara, it would go nicely with the SHAR I built in Falklands colours a couple of years ago.
I think Mr Models here in Palmy might still have an Airfix Strikemaster, they had it in the window last week when I was in there.
I've got the Aeroclub 1/48 Blunty too, perhaps I'll have to make the effort and build that. It's a very nice kit, but probably not the simplest!

I used their 'contact us' form on Saturday, so they've had a couple of working days to respond so far and haven't, perhaps they're taking the days off in between as well!

I'm waiting to see what they say, they may just send me a new set of decals.

Phil, wasn't the wavy scheme used up until the mid-late 1970s? I think that was the original scheme they came out from the UK in? That appears to be correct, drawing DENG 7510 Rev A is dated 28/8/80, and this is the straight demarcation and FS paint codes.

I cant help with the Herc roundels from home, but I do have the Strikemaster drawings sitting in front of me, I have RNZAF Drawing DATS 7084 issue C, and it lists 18" roundels for the Strikemaster. I'm struggling to find a date on the drawing revision, but it lists BS paints and shows a wavy demarcation.
Given the balls up Airfix have made with the Strikemaster decals, a decent set wouldn't go astray.

Well I'm not going to send it back to Airfix, postage would be horrendous, and the model shop can't get any more. I've emailed Airfix, I'll wait and see what they come back with.

I saw that one and wondered whether the roundels were the same size.
Decal sheet costs more than the kit!
What were airfix thinking.... Tempted to send it back.

Hi Alan,
I've had a look on their site, the only RNZAF roundels they seem to have are the fern leaf ones, i haven't found any kiwi roundels though, do you have a link?
Cheers

I finally got hold of this kit yesterday, and although the kit itself isn't bad, the decals are terrible!
The blue in the roundels and fin flash is black. And the grey of the codes is very dark grey. Pretty much unusable.
Does anyone know of any alternatives? I don't suppose anyone has the decals from the old matchbox kit they'd like to part with?

In the box with my 1/144 757 was a free gift from the seller, a Hasegawa 1/200 DC-3. The kit's decals are for 'All Nippon Airlines'.
Are there any 1/200 RNZAF DC-3 Decals available? Or failing that, some D-Day markings for one of the aircraft that dropped the US Airborne forces in Normandy?
