Ricks Andover is awesome, and I fly it a bit. Here I am chasing my AI model in Rick's Andover. But it is not useable as an AI aircraft, especially when you have 10 of them on the ramp at Whenuapai. SeanG

Wow! Nice collection of photos! Most useful, especially for the delivery scheme. Thanks Paul!

More progress tonight... all serial's represented, 4 in VIP, '27 in all white/UN, '23 in SEA scheme, the rest in Europe 1. Here's the 4 schemes parked at Whenuapai I've run into a wee problem which has delayed release of the package.... unfortunately the poor we things tip onto their tails if they have to brake hard... Sean, back in the 1 squadron days '76 - '80, when we had 6 aircraft, some of the routine was: 1 a/c SATS run all stops south and back north Monday and Friday. 1 a/c Freight SATS south on Tuesday, overnight Wigram, fisheries patrol Thursday (usually with a refuel at Invercargill), return to Wigram and freight northbound Thursday. Usually 1 a/c on scheduled servicing. Often 1 a/c on crew training, another on miscellaneous tasking - grunt shuttle, paratroop training, overseas, etc. Some weeks were quiet with just the shuttles, but some were hectic. Throw in the odd Pluto, formation flying, RNZAF Band tour, royal visit and life was rarely boring. Thanks! That's exactly the sort of thing I'm after.. and I have a soft spot for 1 Sqn.. when I was in the ATC (back in the day) Sqn.Ldr Oldfield was my instructor in the Airtourer SeanG

I'm doing some research for a flightsim project, and I have a couple of Andover questions... Is there a list anywhere of what paint each aircraft carried through their life? And... what did the Andover fleet do during an "average week in the life"? The reason for the questions; The package I am putting together created "Artificial Intelligence" aircraft, which fly specified flights on a weekly cycle. I am modelling the RNZAF in a 2 or 3 different eras, and at leat 1 of those will feature Andovers at Whenuapai, and maybe Ohakea. Any information greatly appreciated Cheers SeanG There are more pictures of my project in the "flightsim sub-board" of this very forum... but here is a wee teaser

I've been butchering you Wigram scenery a bit Ian... and it does look good with some life around huh? SeanG It dose indeed I really need to rebuild Wiggy as it today , I have the photo material , just need to me ass off and build new models. Might have to go Joint Venture with you... I want the photos, and models, but I will be doing pre-'95, for FS9 and FSX/P3D SeanG

Lovely renditions... Hercs and Orions? They are done, Military AI Works did a Kiwi C-130 package a while ago. and Ray Parker did a set of P-3's in the current grey scheme. I plan (somewhere down the track) on doing the C-130's in the "Blue Stripe Airline" scheme, and and Orions in the original colours as well.... Releases will come via the Military AI Works Download Hangar when they are done SeanG

Very nice Sean. What scenery are you using? I am building my own, but need to talk to the VLC guys about back-dating their mil-objects to FS2004... (I've done it for my own use, but would need to seek permission to do it for release) Oh and.... It's not an Andover, but it will do until there is one (it's coming apparently!) SeanG

I remember my first introduction to Floyd. It was during an ATC "Live and Work" course at Whenuapai, one of the guys had a tape player and "Final Cut"... I was hooked, and now have a pretty fair Pink Floyd LP/CD/DVD collection Saw Roger Waters "The Wall" in Paris a couple of years ago, and I am quite convinced that I'll never see anything better, no matter how long I live! Dave, Sean's still around ..he is a poster at NZFF and I think he is still in the simulator business Yep, I'm still around, and in the business. The Hamilton sim is still in use, just not open to the public. The owner and some of the instructors have in running in private, somewhere around Hamilton. The Auckland store has left our franchise group, and are very much doing their own thing, and the Northlands mall sim has relocated to Adelaide. Like most on the board I'd be a one-time customer too, but there are a huge number out there who are regulars, some doing an awful lot of hours The group as a whole is still ticking along, we have franchises scattered around the world now, with 5 in Aussie, plus Singapore, Hong Kong, Kuwait and Paris, with a new one opening in Bangkok by Christmas. We also have 4 sims in private hands. Still building my Skyhawk sim in my spare time too... can't get enough sim building it seems ;-) SeanG
