Thanks heaps, planecrazy, for purchasing a shirt and the kind words. They are nice shirts, eh? I was seriously impressed when I placed my test order before making things public.
Curtiss, I spoke to John Saunders and he informed me the Gloria Lyons project was separate from the Omaka museum and the Mossie project. That's where I was originally going to send the donations. I have been flat out with work so haven't checked the website for a while until now. There's only been five sales to date (part of me wonders why I bother, but press on!). I suspect I haven't reached any threshold yet for the commission payment to come in. Sales have been slow, partly due to my being busy elsewhere and not being able to push the shirts. Still, they're out there and I'll get there!
Heaps of ideas for future designs to support various projects. It's just a matter of having the time to get them done as usual.
Cheers
Andy

Does anyone know the serial number of the 156 Sqdn Lanc GT-T above? I think it's a III in the JA serial range.

Hi everyone, after a few years with the idea rolling around in my head about how to tackle it, and then several months last year as I nutted out the detail and worked with my graphic design expert, my nose art t-shirt 'business' is now live! I've always wanted to create a range of nose art t-shirts featuring less well-known subjects (i.e. no 'Memphis Belle' etc), but also wanted to somehow give back to projects and organisations who look after the aircraft and history we all love. Wear Wright Stuff is the result. Each t-shirt purchased directly supports a restoration or organisation. Several in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the UK and the USA are already on board and waiting patiently for me to get designs organised. You'll be pleased to know the first three shirts support the preservation of the Smith P-40N 'Gloria Lyons' in Omaka. All profit from the sale of this series go to the project (that's A$5 per t-shirt). Another shirt design, the most advanced of the new ideas I have, will support the NZAFM (they've been really helpful). I ordered some shirts before going live and am very impressed with the quality of the material and printing. Sizing seems a little on the small side so please check the measurements. There will be more designs appearing soon (Liberator, Wellington, Catalina, Firefly, Vengeance and Seafire are in the mix due to availability of good source material and interest from a relevant group). Please spread the word about what Wear Wright Stuff does if you can. I also welcome any ideas you might have for new designs, especially if you can also suggest a project/group to support. The website is a bit basic, but it allows purchasing so that's what matters. Wear your passion for aviation history! wearwrightstuff.secure-decoration.com/shopCheers Andy

Hi all I've set up a new Facebook group to better maintain the website's presence on there. Not sure if it's better or not but there you go. If you're keen on keeping in touch with the world of books by/about RAF and Commonwealth aircrew who flew in the Second World War, please join up. New and old books are featured so there's something for everyone hopefully. Hope to see you there. Thanks for the kick up the bum, Dave. www.facebook.com/groups/aircrewbookreview/

I am working on an article about the loss of 41-2434 and her crew for the next issue of Flightpath. It has been nothing short of amazing to discover the history of the aircraft. The visit to NZ, and the fact there is a photo, is just the icing on the cake. WONZ does it again!

Great photos, Gerry, of a lovely cemetery. My wife visited Burma for work back in 2008 and loved the people and the countryside.
The RAAF chap was W/C Lionel Hudson. He wrote about his time as a POW in The Rats of Rangoon.

Does that mean you haven't read Night After Night, Zac? You're missing out, man. That, indeed all of Max Lambert's work, is a real treat.

Have you heard about the new edition of this book? The author has created a print on demand version and it can be ordered as a hard or soft cover and even as a PDF. The original edition sells for silly money. It is the 1944-45 history of No. 455 Squadron RAAF who worked very closely with No. 489 Squadron RNZAF as the Dallachy Wing. Lots of Kiwis mentioned. At last, an affordable way to obtain this classic. I'm a bit excited! Bit of a ramble about it on my site so you can get an honest opinion before committing (or asking for a Christmas present). aircrewbookreview.blogspot.com.au/2015/11/strike-and-strike-again-return.html

I'm in touch already with Keith. Surely he's not the only person in Aussie who knows veterans though? Yep, he's the only one. LOL, the only one I know that I figured you cold get in touch with easily. The people you'll be visiting, traveling and staying with are pretty much my network as well. James will know people at the AWM but I can put you in touch with Garth O'Connell if you like. He's a top bloke (a curator) who knows his stuff.

I was pleased to see a mention of the forum, and Peter Wheeler, in the acknowledgements of this book by Sean Feast. The book is about Gerry Anderson's (of Thunderbirds TV show etc fame) older brother, Lionel, who flew Defiants on Moonshine and Mandrel jamming ops before being lost flying intruder ops on Mossies. This forum, and Peter, enabled the author to speak to Reg Dunbar who had flown on the jamming ops and could provide a first-hand account of what they were really like.
A nice little hardback that is well-written and is certainly the first I have come across with a detailed account of No. 515 Squadron's activities and the Moonshine and Mandrel ops and the clear definition between the two.

Get in touch with Keith Webb, Dave, he has interviewed many veterans. James knows him. There's usually some veterans floating about the Liberator restoration too so maybe a pre-emptive email to them?

Just in case you don't know, Flightpath is finally available for download on iPads etc. As you can see it's only available through iTunes at present but it's a big step after being out of the digital market for so long. Enjoy! Flightpath - digital issues

Saw the news on FB last night. Was a bit distracted by attending the Corsair party yesterday at Point Cook.
Congrats everyone. Really happy for Alan and Jim. Wonderful photos, Gavin.

Can anyone think of a 'personality' whose Dad or Grandfather or Uncle flew Corsairs in the RNZAF? Someone with that direct connection would surely have a bit of passion there they can communicate widely.
This is an opportunity that probably won't come up again so I'm keen for NZ to make this happen. Will chip in if a fundraising effort is started.
