I will travel down as well and bring my wife along who works for Air New Zealand. Great to put faces to names after five years.

Great news Steve. I spent the afternoon with Craig Brankin who is here in Cambridge already. He's really looking forward to meeting many of you for the first time, and catching up with friends - as am I.

I will be there!!! I'd love to come up tonight, save me an early start in the morning....any chance I may be able to pinch someone's couch in exchange for a dozen or so cold ones? ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) Peter, unfortunately just before Christmas I was made redundant from Wanganui Aero Work - two others also are now looking for jobs - and yesterday was my last day with the company. Sad, but at least now I can say I've been an aircraft engineer! ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png)

I already have, starting January 25! A move up to Hawera and back into retail, a sector I appear to thrive in....not to mention Super Air's Fletcher based up the road in Stratford!
I have negotiated some living space for tonight so I will soon be temporarily Cambridge-based! See you all tomorrow, if you like I can be contacted by cellphone on 027 393 4892.

I can also concur with Errol it was a most enjoyable day with special thanks to Dave and the presenters, also to Bruce getting the Avian across for us to view. Great to catch up with those who attended.
Visiting the old dump site today, certainly brought back many memories of digging for valuable aircraft bits and pieces at Rukahia back in my MOTAT Aviation Division Volunteer days for our aircraft restorations back in the 60's and 70's.

Awesome day - thanks to all the speakers and presenters, who without exception, were really interesting. Marcus, thanks particularly for your presentation on the Angolan Border War - a conflict which is so rarely covered, but a real eye opener when it is realised how close things came to the ultimate escalation. Great videos shown too - everyone loved the flying boat vid! I think the Fossick at Tony's dump site was very cool too, producing some intersting bits as we watched. Anyway, heres a photo of most of the attendees talking aeroplane, although someone has clumsily parked some aeroplane in the foreground! ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y46/flyK1W1/Forummeet17Jan.jpg)

A thoroughly enjoyable day! I had a blast meeting everyone, swapping stories and info, sharing the Fletcher goodness ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) , and learning about all sorts. Like Bruce I particularly enjoyed Marcus' talk about the Border Wars and the South African nuclear programme...absolutely fascinating! However it was also great to hear about life as a Sunderland crewmember, as well as that of a Canberra nav/bomb aimer. Love those round-top Canberras! Of course it was a real pleasure to finally get to Hamilton airport and see the Pacific Aerospace facilities....and almost go off the road in the process....and also to check out some of the Super Air Fletcher fleet in person. Not to mention Bruce's Avian Adventurer, superb to see that and inspect it at close quarters. It certainly has a pleasing engine tone to it. My thanks to Dave Homewood for not only organising the event, but also for organising space on his couch for your resident Fletcher owner. Much appreciated ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) And after about 12hr driving in 36hr, I'm off to get some sleep! Thanks again to all for a very enjoyable day, and lets do it again!

I could name most of those - I just dont want to offend those whose names I have forgotten! (Dave would probably know though - hes better at remembering names than I am....) Marcus, I would love to see any video you have of CKE taxiing - I'd like to see / hear what it is like from outside! ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)
