Thanks for sharing those pics! We had just fitted the disc brakes when Harrysone's pics were taken. They came from a scrapped Mexican Dak, XB-DYU.

Every panel is perfect and shiny. All rivets are clean and each joint looks very true. Lovely close-up photos - thanks!

They are indeed fantastic photos! Thanks for sharing Harrysone!
FYI, ZK-AWP has, by all accounts, commenced her re-delivery flight to NZ and was Tonga-Nadi 20 December, and Nadi-Noumea 21 December. One can assume, with fingers crossed, that she will be onto Norfolk Island and Auckland in the coming days. A great Christmas present!

ZK-AWP is "feet dry" over Aotearoa trundling down from Noumea via a gas'n'go at Norfolk Island, looking good to touch down runway 23 left at Auckland around 1845. Merry Christmas!

So after saying to my partner, "I'm not a real avgeek, I'm not rushing out to the airport to watch the Dak come in!", I was out walking the dog in Cornwall Park. I hope it isn't ZK-DAK! ZK-AWP 2013-12-22 by errolgc, on Flickr

Heard it over Warkworth area this evening. The sound of those two R1830s still fires up the emotions. I don't think I will ever forget that sound.

ooops, that backfired. I see a black spot, is that a Dalmation ? Baz..... Baz... People nearly always try to describe his heritage by limiting themselves to only two recognised breeds... The polite pros I meet in the park say things like "gollly, what a mix!" Nice 'real' photos Colin. I often see the Great Barrier Tr/Islanders over the park, sometimes they even circle!

Heard a strange radial sound pass over my place in the far North latish yesterday afternoon. Went looking but it was too far gone then to spot. Must've been this bird. Those a very nice shots, BTW.

Probably not going to get a true answer but how expensive is it to park up at Auckland Airport? - are there different rates for permanent park or a 24hr park? Do Businesses own an area, or is it by plane... size of plane...
It was said some little while ago that AWP was going to reside at the airport I assume for further use?

DAK was flying around yesterday afternoon too...so that could have added to the confusing sound of '1830s
