From Stuff 30-1-10 Emergency services are on the scene of a glider crash south of Auckland.
A Fire Communications spokesman says the glider crash-landed into a paddock in Opaheke, three kilometres south of Ardmore Aerodrome, at about 1.30pm on Saturday afternoon.
It is understood that the glider is the sole occupant and has minor injuries.
Weather conditions in the area are fine and it is not clear what caused the accident
Note the usual high quality of the reporting whereby the glider was the sole occupant?

Absent, too, is the usual, almost mandatory " eyewitness " report on how the pilot wrestled with his controls to avoid crashing on a convent, a childrens' hospital and a shelter for homeless puppy dogs.

You're not having a go at our first class media reporting standards are you?? ;D Charlie Brooker's Newswipe, brilliant show. Seriously though, saw this on the telly last night (a rare moment of watching the news when not at work). I'm glad the pilot only has minor injuries. The injuries to the glider looked a bit more than minor though.
