This is from last Tuesday, the windscreen and almost all the glazing was in the Mossie. It is looking stunning. And also stunning is the fantastic P-40C Tomahawk, I can see why the RAF chaps thought it looked like a shark and began painting them up that way. This is from a few weeks before.

The Tomahawk is looking a lot more complete than the last time I saw it, and that was only a month or so ago.

Thanks Stu,
These updates are just fascinating, what a privilege to watch a Mossie built virtually from the ground up, piece by piece. I'm in awe of such craftsmanship and skill - is it engineering or art?
Appreciate your efforts in posting them.
Looks like a lot still to do by Easter??

Yes perhaps an engineering art? Certainly the workmanship is to a very high standard and I'd be proud to own the result.

Not to take anything away from the amazing work being done, but it must be looking increasingly unlikely that it will be finished by Easter? It must be a nervious wait for the organisers of Classic Fighters... on this and a couple of other "drawcards".

Whilst i'd never say never I agree with Don...considering Easter is only what - 10 weeks away I guess that beautiful P-40 Tomahawk is getting ready for her test flight soon - can't wait ;D

It must be a nervious wait for the organisers of Classic Fighters... on this and a couple of other "drawcards". Even the Classic Fighters web site seems to be preparing people for the sad fact that the Mossie wont be finished on time ( barring a miracle ) . Was talking to a knlowedgable gentleman at the weekend who tells me the Mossie was always going to be a questionable attendee , but sadly another project recently has also consumed man hours , and put its attandance ( virtually ) out of question . Keep your fingers crossed though ;D

If I had to make a guess i'd say that the Mossie's airshow debut will be Flying Legends at Duxford.
If it can't be Omaka then that'll do me ;D

If it can't be Omaka then that'll do me ;D As they say " the last %10 of the work , takes %90 of the time " , so you never know . I am led to believe there may have been mention of a " tour " of this country before heading off shore , so dont give up hope

What is the status of the P-40 Tomahawk? If it is still here could it be seen at Omaka perhaps? Fingers crossed!

Not a major update, more a belated one (I seem to be running out of hours in the day recently) - the DH89 Dragon has moved from Current to Past Projects along with some new photos.... www.warbirdrestoration.co.nz/past.html#dragonCheers, Stu.

The Tomahawk appears to be in the markings of 2Lt george Welch 47thPS, the aircraft he flew on 7th December 1941.He shot down 4 Japanese aircraft that day .Cowlings are behind the aircraft.I was guessing that it was going to be in AVG markings.Nice surprise!

Oh my goodness, she looks STUNNING! I loved that scheme on the TFC machine, it will be a dream come true to see this bird take to the Kiwi skies in a similar scheme, superb work guys!
How comes the Mossie? Has work temporarily shifted to getting the 'hawk finished?

The Mosquito has a different work team from the Tomahawk Zac,
The Tomahawk is in a Pearl Harbor scheme I believe. It looks great eh!
