I have also seen the Keith Park display at the Auckland War Memorial, it is really impressive to see all his medals and uniform and other bits and pieces. He was a great supporter of the museum, and it was Park who arranged for their Spitfire to be donated by the RAF and brought out to NZ.
really? wow cool! yeah i love the display, that museum has lots of interesting bits and pieces. calgarys military museums are quite good aswel

Hi Dave....Is there any way you can increase the lattest updates by folks from 10...to say 20 whatever...I still miss a few entries and then have not got enough time to search all topics...or would a date entry across all forums areas in one forum be possible ??

RNZAF ranks...correct me if I'm wrong ...the Chief of Air Force (Chief of Air Staff) has always been an AVM and if holds the position of Chief Of Defence upgrades to AM...thats right..i think ...what about aussies one up again ie AM then Air Chief Marshall for Aussie combined head...One day who knows in the future..... a Aussie/Kiwi 5 star rank Marshall of the Royal Australasian Air Force...NAR....lets stick with AVM (kiwi)!!

I'm unsure if I can alter the updates Steve. I'll have a look and if I find a way, I will.
As for ranks, not strictly true. Before the war when Ralph Cochrane was made the first CAS he was just a Group Captain. Hugh Saunders was an Air Commodore. It wasn't till Goodard and Isitt's days where the AVM rank took hold, I guess simply due to the expansion of the RNZAF in size.
As for Air Marshalls in the RNZAF there have been: Air Marshal Sir Richard Bolt Air Marshal Sir David Jamieson Air Marshall David Crooks Air Marshal Carey Adamson Air Marshall Bruce Ferguson
And other NZ'ers to hold the rank (can you think of others?) Air Chief Marshall Sir Keith Park Air Marshal Sir Arthur Coningham Air Marshal Sir Kenneth Hayr

On the homepage of the forum, at the bottom below the boards in the Info Centre is the Forum Statistics area. The last line should read
View the 30 most recent posts of this forum.
Does it?

And for those of you who don't know my first name's Jen (but that's CPL to you CDTs! na just joking)

And I'd just like to note that there is now a forum for No.4 Sqn Ardmore (cough cough Hardmore). There is a link on our site at (I'm sure you all know it) www.airtrainingcorps.org.nz under "sign our guestbook!!!" so check it out yea? It's of the same format as this forum just it's got No.4 Sqn plastered all over it. So yea...when you've got the time...

Yes the stars come with the rank. It's an automatic thing.
So No. 4 Squadron has copied us then. Jealous were they? hehe

haha yeah pretty much aye, na we've been nagging for ages to get a forum because the guestbook is really just that; a guest book for guests to comment in so yeah...we wanted something for the CDTs to socialise in.
Oh don't worry douglas I was just taking the mickey out of your name lol just to kind of top off the comments previously in this part of the forum from when i believe cassidy broadcasted to the world what your first name was on your behalf. Just ignore me!! I mean know harm...
