3rd of september 2010 in Keflavik Iceland. The Dreamliner came to Keflavik with a crew of 100 to do some x-wind tests. The winds that day were 120/30Gust36. They were using runway 20 so 80 degrees 30 knots crosswind.

Cheers for posting that clip - I love watching those big birds coming in with all that yaw in those crosswinds. Bloody good pilots - but then, I guess once you get to be a test pilot, you've got a few of those landings and takeoffs under your belt.

Bloody good pilots - but then, I guess once you get to be a test pilot, you've got a few of those landings and takeoffs under your belt. However, one of the jobs of test pilots is evaluating how a 'line' pilot will manage in trying circumstances - the test pilot's additional skill is there to handle any worst-than-expected aircraft performance during the trial.
