Citation Mention in Despatches (10 Jul 1945): For meritorious service as Group Armament Officer 1 (Islands) Group Feb 1944-Feb 1945. Died Lower Hutt, 1 Aug 1955, on his first day of retirement leave.

Great photos - thanks for sharing. I wonder if that is Riccarton Racecourse in the background of the Vildebeest/Vincent formation shot? I agree. That would make the road immediately above the upper wing of the lead aircraft Epsom Rd that turns right and becomes Racecourse Rd then intersects with Yaldhurst Rd heading NW towards Harewood. Thus, Wigram airfield would be almost immediately behind the flight
