Here is my Harpoon "ANNIE" N7458C 37234 15-1200 I got her March 2007 I am also hooked on the Lockheed Twins, as I have also obtained a C-60/L-18/Howard 250....Neither aircraft are airworthy, just didn't want them going to the scrappers. I started H.O.G. Harpoon Owners Group to help all concerned in obtaining those hard to find parts. I have loads of Poon pictures, as I am trying to do a history on the surviving Harpoons, so email if you'd like to see a few...onetimehilton@aol.com The PV-1 and -2 are different because of the redesigned wing on the -2 It's span is 10 feet more than the Vent. Tail is redesigned as well...a lot stronger as well as a wider span there too. Cockpit canopy is different, as previously noted as is the landing gear...The -2 has an increased payload and range, but didn't have the speed the Ventura had...but it used the same engine....P&W R-2800-31 2000HP...Although the PV-2 is a much more stable platform, especially at higher gross weights and slower airspeed...the old PV-1 drivers couldn't stand the -2 because it was so much slower..She is a great bird though...it did a great tour of duty after the war fighting forest fires and spraying bugs.... Welcome to the forum Harpoon. Well done on saving two classic aircraft from the scrapheap. Do you plan to restore them back to pristine condition? Or maybe even a flyable state in the distant future?
