Not long to go now — five weeks from yesterday.
Fingers crossed the wind behaves itself and doesn't cause problems like it did last year.
Unfortuately I won't be at this one....it clashes with another engagement in Wellington on the same date.
Mind you, being a Masterton local, I get plenty of chances to see TVAL's collection in the air, so missing the occasional TVAL airshow isn't really a big deal for me. Besides, Wings Over Wairarapa isn't too far away now!

A ride in either the Avro 504K or the P-40E would be a prize that you would never forget - marvellous idea!

I don't know which I would prefer - the chance to ride in an aircraft Kingsford Smith flew, or a V12 fighter....! My leave is booked and I will be there resplendent in a Fletcher shirt.

That P-40E was the first Kittyhawk that Geoff Fisken flew, he told me, so it too has famous connections. I'd think a lot of other famous pilots have flown it too, notwithstanding the famous pilots who fly it today for our pleasure.

Does she make you wear these bells you mention? Some kind of low tech GFPS? (Geosynchronous Fiancée Positioning System) Is she coming to Omaka? We can impress her with our razor wit and aircraft knowledge. ;D

Congrats Zac, taken for granted how big a decision that is I put it on the wrong thread earlier by mistake, but the metservice forecast for tomorrow is a bit iffy, lots of sun, but lots of wind as well.

Sadly that wind has put paid to my flying down. I looked up commercial flights to Wellington but nothing is available. Shame the DC3 isn't going down from Ardmore.

Just been notified by the organisers that the show for today has been cancelled. Wind is getting up. WW1 aircraft and wind don't mix very well. :-) Hopefully the Wings over Wairarapa has better luck.

The flying display may have been cancelled, apart from a sole Fokker Triplane and the RNZAF Harvard. But the Vintage Aviator opened their hangar for free to the public. I must say it was great to be able to walk around all these aircraft, and see them up close. Well done TVAL, it certainly made up for no flying.

I hope some of you might post photos from the day, and also let us know which aircraft were on show please.
Such a pity about the wind. Better luck next time.

We received word just before we reached Palmerston North, so we spent the morning shopping there instead. We did have NZ1015 pass us on it's way over, that was about the most exciting part of my day!
