The Concrete pad for that "eternally unfinished" hangar at Hamilton is still in existence. It sits "Airside" in between Central Aero Engineering and the "Eagle Air" Taxiway, with the old road still extant (complete with speed hump) behind it. I was running up ZK-CKE beside it the other day. I'm doubtful about it being to service US bombers - its much too small. The old Waikato Aero Club Hangar also still survives, reclad and refurbished and used by Central Aero.

For servicing the nose turrets apparently,not the whole plane.

I'm sure I have seen a few of those frame hangars unfinished like that and identical in wartime photos of Harewood and I think Fairhall. I wonder if they were in fact finished and they would have had canvas roofs?
