I will have a look around Hamiltron, it is amazing what turns up at the second hand book stores and the like. Everything but the Topdressers from the 1980's ;P
Also, if Te Kuiti has a warehouse, every New Zealand town with more than 100 families must have one!

I have no idea how big Wanganui is, I went there once as a kid and all I recall is they had a lifesized statue of Fred Flintstone in their park!

I'm just missing a couple of aircraft names now, then I'll start looking into pilots, and exact dates of WAW ownership ! BHC, BHT, CYN, DZL (IF this was an Aero Work machine), EGM.

DZL wasn't with WAW,it was with Rangitikei air services until 1978 when it was involved in a fatal accident. It was painted in blue livery and was unusual in having a black coloured instrument panel.

When I worked there I asked and the consensus was it was at Napier for spares.
Thanks for the info, Beaver :-)

I suspect you might be the film production Co that created this Zac ? - I congratulate you if you were
1695 ? persons have watched the Utube version - not a best seller but still, worth every cent
if the name was 'WAW - topdressing tigers to turbines' there would have been more views I'd guess

I was at the Blinkbonnie display though...I distinctly remember my watch getting filled with super thanks to all the demonstrations! Hi Zacyates, about 1978/79 there was an airshow at Wanganui, the opening show was 10 fletchers and 4 choppers, I have 3 photos of it but are only instamatic generated, does any one have better ones or was there at the time. The sound was incredible. Unfortunately Dave's photos have been Photobucketed, but does anyone know when the airshow was? The aero club's 50th jubilee bookazine makes no mention of an associated pageant.

This VHS Video was filmed and produced by Majik Video Systems of Auckland. They are well know for producing Railscene a video/rail magazine on current New Zealand rails news and features. Lindsay Benbrook was born and educated in Wanganui. Later he became a TVNZ cameraman and was the logical person the make this feature video on Wanganui Aero Work at their 50th year of aerial topdressing in New Zealand.
I wrote researched and wrote most of the script. However I did not like the sound of my own voice, so I left it Lyndsay. I got the copy with the numbers and the script was linked in with the numbers.
Wally and Mabel Harding captured the early aviation history of the company as well as other aviation demonstrations and airshows on 8mm cine film.

Had a chat with John Harding today - his Cresco's in for a check - and he's going to see if he has any shots of DZL at home Richard Cowper
