On the shorts for next week's edition of 60 Minutes there will be a featire on Sir Tim Wallis.
Oddly all the bits shown on the advert have been seen before on the programme a few years ago, so it may be a repeat, or may be updated too.
If it's a straight repeat of the "Hurricane Tim" feature it is certainly worth a watch. If thjere's new bits, all the better.
That is 7.30pm, Monday 7th of Novemebr 2005 on TV3.

Just watched the piece that aired tonight on 60 Minutes. It certainly did use pieces from previous interviews done by 60 Minutes' reporter Melanie Reid - starting with her original piece on him from 1992, then some of her story Hurricane Tim, made after his very sad crash that nearly killed him in January 1996. It did seem odd to see many aircraft on this current affairs piece that are now long gone (CT-4B, Andover, Buchon, Corsair, etc), as are one or two of the pilots who flew them. However, this all lead up to a new piece on the end because this week Sir Tim had a book about his life launched! Fantastic. That's a must read ... my birthday is coming up too ... The book is called 'Hurricane Tim - The Story of Sir Tim Wallis' by Neville Peat Go here - then click on Warbirds Over Wanaka (top left) and go to bottom of next page) nzfpm.marketeer.co.nz/product.pasp?emGUID=8EEA92E97ED044C1B499600EAC76E87FThere was a lovely shot of the LA-9 fly low over Tim this week, and he had a huge smile on his face! Great stuff.

Great footage throughout the 60 minutes piece - the shots of him flying the Spitfire back in '92 were great, you could see how much he loved it. It must frustrate him somewhat as his mind is still obviously very sharp and as able as ever, but with severely disrupted physical mobility. It is a great comment on his character that he hasnt let that get in his way and still has a passion for classic aircraft, which he continues to share with others. Santa please note - I'd like a copy of the book as well!
