These new photos have gone up onto the Air Force Museum of New Zealand site in the past two days. I'd heard of Bar Fly but never seen the artwork before, I love this. On a School of General Reconnaissance and Navigation Avro Anson: PR12 "Nose art on an Anson at the Navigation and Reconnaissance School, RNZAF Station, New Plymouth. Nose art is a rabbit wearing boxing gloves sitting on a beer bottle, with the words "Bar Fly"." And two shots of a nose art on a No. 5 Squadron RAF Curtiss Mohawk flown by a Kiwi/ MUS981021 "Close up of an engine cowl from a No. 5 Squadron RAF Mohawk, with the nose art of a Maori warrior holding a Tiaha and "Ake! Ake! Kia Kaha!" written underneath. Believed to be in India." MUS981022 "Unknown pilot posing with the engine cowl from a No. 5 Squadron RAF Mohawk. Unknown location in India. Cowl bears nose art, see MUS981021 for a close up of the artwork."
