Oh that's very sad. He was a Sgt on NATTS up till it was disbanded, but he was kept on working in No. 6 Hangar as the Wigram Base Artist till 1993, painting a series of images of Flying Training Wing and Technical Squadron and other units before they either moved to Ohakea or closed down. He was one of the last dozen or so with me at Tech Sqn Wigram before I was posted to Ohakea. Top bloke, a terrific artist, and a nice guy. He presented each of the last Tech Squadron team members a painting he did as we got posted, I still have mine. RIP Trevor. I am so sad to hear the news that my good mate Richard Stowers has passed away. This is a huge loss. He was such a great chap, a true gentleman, and a very knowledgeable historian. He wrote so many excellent NZ military history books, including books on Cobber Kain and Bomber Barron. He was also a forum member here. He used to live here in Cambridge and I saw him often back when we were both of the Armistice in Cambridge committee. He was always great to chat with, and very generous with his time. I shall miss him. 🙁 RIP Richard.
