And another of the great RNZAF and Air New Zealand Flight Engineers gone. RIP Flight Engineer Bud Rose (16th July 1926 - 4th July 2024)
This is a message from Joanne Coad, the second daughter of Bud and Shirley Rose.
I thank you for your caring and friendship towards my father Bud Rose.
It is with heavy heart that I am writing to tell you that our dear Dad, and your friend, has passed away.
On the evening of 4th July, 2024, Dad had an accident at home and died, at home, from his injuries.
Dad was living at home with minimal assistance, he was in excellent health, and he was happy with his future plans.
He was really looking forward to celebrating his 98th Birthday with all the family, next week on the 16th July.
Dad has just sold his house, and following his birthday we were settling him into an Assisted Living apartment at a brand new Retirement village, nearby on Lincoln Rd in Henderson.
As per his wishes Dad is to be cremated.
A Memorial Service will be held for him on Wednesday 17th July at 11:00am
in the Main Chapel at Morrisons Funerals, 220 Universal Drive, Henderson, Auckland.
Morrisons offer a Streaming service for those who may wish to follow the service online.
Those who wish to attend please RSVP to my email to assist with catering arrangements.
With Love
Joanne Coad

I had the pleasure of calling on Bud not long ago to arrange for him to visit MoTAT and assist in identifying all the knobs and levers that are in the Hastings cockpit held there. He was quite willing to do that. A most helpful fellow.
