Thanks, yeah, after ?00's of models they're starting to look like I want them to, the finish is in no small part due to the tip I got re matt varnish ( thanks Tim! ), the Klear/ tamiya flat base works magnificently allowing the ratio of flat/gloss to vary across the model.
I got used to the 'trenches' pretty quick, in fact with handbrushing they sorta filled anyway, and by not highlighting them, well, they highlight themselves!
All up, this is a really nice kit from Airfix, a few minor issues, canopy fit and dihedral, both easily rectified, the letters DW-K were too light a grey ( mine got a darker grey wash ) and were arranged wrong and required seperating to set individually. Also the decals include a serial, I have photo's of both sides of this machine and it has none ( although apparently there were 4 DW-K's ! ) It seems very accurate and having built most 1/72 Spitfires I would say it looks the best.
