That aircraft would be fantastic back in the local warbird/airshow mix.

When I win the lotto I'll be in a position to help. I'm slowly turning she who must be obeyed to the dark side and she is seeing the delight of warbirds and similar aircraft ;D

You can always get an Auster....... It's what everyone else seems to be doing. Plus they'll need a decent-sized aircraft to carry their engineers and spares ;D

In Canada they are still used commercially on floats (B 18 not Austers!)

From my reading of what Northcro posted above, and from previous conversations with him, it's extremely unlikely we'll ever see any of the former CAF aircraft active again due to the legal wranglings that went on.
So the suggestion of raising money would have to be for a seperate project aircraft I guess?

You can always get an Auster....... Looks like we'll need to restart the Rearsby production line due to unfulfilled demand from the colonies.

heh heh heh there is no escape!! Its a real shame a few have spoiled it for the many and caused theses aircraft to fall into disrepair. I was involved with the restoration of Harvard NZ1040 here in Christchurch when it was part of the CAF (Penguin Flight) along with Raymond and Shorty. When that project folded the Harvard went to CAF HQ in Auckland and was then sold to an Australian and now flies in Queensland so at least one aircraft the CAF was involved with flies today.

Hmmm... Truth to tell, there has been years of hard work behind the scenes. An agreement with the Public Trust is iminent and we are in a position to seek renewed interest in these iconic aircraft. The intention is to invite interested parties to come together and discuss business models for each aircraft. There has already been considerable interest in the Harvard and the outcome will be a sysndicate or business unit or similr, depending on what the interested parties feel will work the best. If you want to know more or would like to become involved, email us at blacksheep@pringle.co.nz, give us a telephone number and we will ring and answer any questions.

Well I really hope something comes of this as it is a real shame that they just sit in a hangar going nowhere for years because of in house fighting etc.....
