and it's good to see that the helicopters are actually fitted for and with all the goodies [RWS, MAWS, Chaff/Flares, radar etc].

Yup, looks like they mean business. TBH it takes the sting out of loosing the fighter wing a little, but not much.

how many NH90's have been finished and painted it is just the one? And anyone know how much longer they have for their initial testing before they are handed over to the crown?

Pretty sure there were many more goodies available that we didn't take up. EO/IR turret IMO should have been selected. A very capable self protection suite however with the ability to be modified into a HFI (hostile fire indication) system, now that would be a great capability.

Awesome shots, really wanna see them in person! I wish someone would smear some crap on the paintjob and get the mag58 out the side for a proper promo picture

In the nose Radome, is it a radar or EO/IR?
And I agree with Phil re the Dual hoist seatup. Much better than the POS the Aussies have
I expect they'll retrofit this setup on theres once they are finally in service

I thought the Aussies got the same hoist? The original factory hoist was a relatively old and basic design but we specified the flash new Goodrich hoist. Maybe the Aussies went with the original factory spec'd one?

Maybe the Aussies went with the original factory spec'd one? Yeah they went with the old crappy Hydraulic one, it's based on a Breeze design from the 1950's modified and built by a German firm . From what I hear all the big operators didn't rock the boat with NHI on the hoist. It was the little operators like NZ, Oman and some others who wouldn't accept the old one and insisted on the new Electric Goodrich hoists. Specifying a dual set up is excellent. It gives you great redundancy. I've heard more whispers that that they want to change hoists as soon as they can. I'll be sending some of these to my old engineer who is now the deputy AEO on 808 Sqn.

The original hoist is made by Telefunken.
We are getting BE hoists on the A109.
I had hoped we would get the Goodrich hoist that the Swiss have cleared on their Alpine Rescue A109s, but for whatever reason this didn't happen.

What a great looking machine! It's wonderful to see it in full RNZAF colours a last, I can't wait to see them in the flesh, ditto the 109s. Will miss the Iroquois but it certainly will be fascinating to see the NH90 cope with filling the very large gap.

Did the A-109 arrive safely? How is it getting here, in a cargo plane or by ship?

Wow, very, very cool set of photos. Are they RNZAF pilots aboard? No, they are the Eurocopter test pilots. This set of photos was taken around Marignane, Southern France. The aircraft are still to be handed over and the initial crews training to be completed on them. The yellow colour seen in the back is the raw composite which is yet to be painted. Hopefully some pics of the initial crews with TNZA1 or 2 will be coming soon.

Thanks for that zkiwi, Welcome to the forum. Are you one of the aircrew memebrs by any chance? It would be great to hear about these helicopters from someone who's there.

What will be interesting for the RNZAF is having to deal with the French (or Eurocopter). After being used, for so long to US spec's /systems etc this will be a change.
After 8 years on a Eurcopter product I so hope my next job will be on a US platform and dealing with a US OEM.

lets hope the french supply system works better than the Italian one, as the Aeromacchi suffered from a shocking lead time for spares and price(USD$20 for a nosewheel O ring) Then there was the companies that had gone bust that made a lot of A class parts.
