Hi,
I have just joined this site - fantastic! I have been asked to consider re-writing my history of the DH Vampire and I have am struggling with the chapter on preserved airframes. Can anyone please tell me the present location of Vampire ZK-T11? I would also like to talk to anyone who can help me with the RNZAF service career of the Vampire, 14 Squadron, 75 Squadron, etc? Thank you in advance.
Rgds, David Watkins

Not sure what you mean by ZK-T11
The only two civil registered Vampires in NZ are ex-RAAF Vampire Mk.35A ZK-VAM and ex-Swiss Vampire T.55 ZK-RVM. Both are still current.
The RNZAF T11s:
NZ5707 - WFU Mar72. Sold by GSB tender #3132 closing 28May73, P J Burns, currently on loan to Ashburton Aviation Museum
NZ5708 - To Indonesian AF Museum Apr85 (swap for Cavalier F-51D Mustang 72-1541)
NZ5709 - WFU @ 3805hrs. Sold by GSB tender #3132 closing 28May73 to K Jacobs of Auckland 3Jul73, to D Subritzky of Auckland
NZ5710 - Stored at Woodbourne. To RNZAF Museum at Wigram 12Dec86
NZ5711 - WFU - To RNZAF Museum at Wigram 12Dec86

I just looked up the register and it is not ZK-TII as that is a TEAM 1300 Z Max, whatever that is.
Peter, Baz reported in a post a while back (the one with the photo of Ashburton's two Vampires and the Harrier lined up outside) that the T11 NZ5705 is now under a new ownership, and no longer belonging to Phillip Burns.

Is anyone able to confirm the current status of Vampire NZ5709 please? Last noted in my records as Ken Jacobs, Auckland Feb17 ZK-TII cancelled.
Many thanks,
Tim.
