Over the years in several documentaries on NZ at war, there have often been some sections of wartime National Film Unit documentaries used that depict the RNZAF during WWII.
I have several of these programmes on video but none of them ever seem to show many of the newsreel documentaries in full, only little bits are edited out here and there.
Do you chaps agree with me that it would be a great idea if the National Film Unit or whoever nowholds them (Archibe NZ I believe) could release a DVD set with the complete set of RNZAF films? I would love that, and certainly pay to get a copy.
They made films on things like: WAAFs at war 5GR Singapores in Fiji 25 Sqn Dauntlesses on a raid 3GR Hudsons leaving Whenuapa for the Pacific Hudsons in the Pacific Hinds and Ansons training and lots more
Plus there's all the stuff of the RNZAF in Europe - they made several films on 75 Sqn, 485 Sqn, etc.
I think it would be great, and they could seel them through the RNZAF Museum, etc.
Would you guys support me if I made an approach to the archive?

Count me in ...I'm certainly willing to pay for a copy....whats the point of these old films if you cannot view them ...and tecnology of DVDs has made it possible for low cost reproductions
