Have just updated my website with a folder of photos that I took of the Avro Anson in January 2011. This is an amazing restoration and am looking forward to having another look at this aircraft on Sunday.

I've been privileged to have visited this aircraft on a couple of occasions. The quality of work & attention to detail is outstanding in every way. Looking forward to seeing it in the air. Steve.

Superb photos as always Gavin and a fantastic restoration in progress. Such an immaculate aircraft, it looks 'factory fresh',which in a sense, I guess it is.

Everytime I click on the Galley links for the Anson (and others) it just takes me back to the home page. Is it just me?

Can't wait to see the shots from today, Gav. What an amazing restoration. Must say and I am sure most of you will agree, it is great to see an aircraft being restored to fly. I really enjoy it, and get a little to excited sometimes. The Anson is looking great, 99% of it is painted, both engines are in, and it looks amazing. A photo will be printed in the next Classic Wings magazine and that is due out in three weeks or so. The good thing about it is that some of the panels can be removed easily so at airshows you will be able to see what the aircraft looks like underneath as it is too good to keep covered up.

Has a date been estimated for flight, Gav? And I agree about watching a restoration, it is a unique thrill. Especially visiting over an extended period of time, seeing the subject evolve as it were.

Considering people were originally saying it was going to fly for Classic Fighters 2009, and then or Classic Fighters 2011, I would not be too worried about asking for a date. Like most restorations, it ill fly when it's ready.

I think all they are waiting for is the exhaust collector rings to come from Canada where they are being made. That was what I heard at Omaka at Easter.

Is that a certain Hudson fuselage, and a F86? I see in the background of a couple of those photos?
