I've seen the photo of CRP on the net before,is the man standing in front of the plane a James pilot?,I've always wondered who it was,it appears to be around the Rotorua-Taupo area mid '70's.

Not too much info on this James Machine, infact that photo is the only one have ever seen of CRP Not entirely sure where it was even based even but heard did do a stint up in Northland for a bit. If anyone knows who flew it, let me know as the guy who made the models father would like to know. Cheers

CRP was based in Rotorua when the pic was taken. Pilot was Ken McCracken. A small detail that is NOT correct in the model. The hopper box and hopper controls were James ones on CRP, not Easton. I went for a few rides in CRP at Rerewhakaaitu (where I grew up), as a young fulla.

CRP was destroyed in a crash in Northland. A James loader driver, Terry Poynter, crashed the machine on a ferry flight, with fatal results.

Here's a photo of CRP I took at Palmerston North 1966/67 I did'nt record the date on the slide. The aircraft is by the Middle Districts Aero Club just to the left of where Barry Sait parked his C180 ZK-BUG.

I feel the modeler has captured the subject very well. The additional diorama certainly adds to the build. Can someone provide details on the kitset itself? Thanks.
