I have recently come into contact with a lady who does aviation art, and she lives right here in Cambridge! Carla McKnight does all sorts of artworks but she has recently gotten into aviation art, inspired by her husband's and sons' love of the Warbirds. I am happy to give her a bit of a plug here on the forum. She takes commissions and would love to hear from anyone who would like a warbird or other aeroplane painted for them. Here are a couple of lovely examples of her work. And see lots more here: www.behance.net/gallery/Aviation-Acrylic-Paintings/1244255

There's a bit of Gavin Conroy in a few of those paintings.

What amazing works! What do you think would be the chance of her doing a Spitfire, Mosquito, Fletcher or Avenger? Please pass on my feelings of awe and appreciation for these works, the Corsair and P-40K and La-9 look photorealistic!
EDIT: never mind on the first two, the Mosquito is gorgeous, and I would love the little 'coming atcha!' Spitfire.

I thought the same thing re the Mossie. She paints things of beauty, Zac, so no Fletcher...

Given my skill an artist it is a bit churlish of me to find fault with this talented ladies efforts but her husband and son should have shown her photos of a Corsairs cockpit area and aerial installation. The cockpit depicted looks like the result of a birdcage Corsair and a P 40Es cockpit after a midnight liason. The aerial resembles a rural washing line.
