I just saw an advert for Campbell Live tomorrow (7pm. TV3, Monday 28th of Nov)
He's going to be talking about the impending running out of oil with people from the aviation industry. The advert showed an RNZAF Orion being refueled. Might be worth a watch.

He's talking about it in terms of being a finite source which will run out in the next few decades. Hence the reason Bush and co are doing their best to get hold of what's left for themselves.

Ah okay, no direct connection with the Orion's. Thank goodness for that, I thought it was about the Orion's being bye-byes !!!!!!

No. not that I could tell. They'd hardly can them, they're the main defence and SAR aircraft now and the public profile of the RNZAF, plus they're being upgraded so will be with us another 40 years or so.

they can't get rid of the p3-k orions, they rock. us cadets always look forward to our free rides and tours in them and the hercs.

Don't worry, they'll still be flying when you will be receiving your RNZAF pension. They'll be around a long long time (unless they fall out of the sky!)
